Nature Fine Art Photographer

Welcome to the official website of Philippe Bourseiller, photographer of Art and Nature where you will discover his work of memory of the great wild natural spaces of our planet Earth for nearly forty years.

Deeply committed to the protection of these wilderness areas, Philippe uses photography to raise awareness among the general public. Photography has changed a lot. It has been considerably reduced, billions of images circulate without any support and become just a form of language. There are no more supports such as albums, slides or negatives, and even less development at the local photographer’s, just electronic dust, data that circulate on screens for a few seconds.

We must refocus on the image as a print, it is the final goal of a shooting. It is very personal for a photographer because he puts all his heart, all his soul into it. I work partly in film (Canon Eos 1 V + Fuji 6×17 / Fuji chrome Velvia 50 asa) for its unique rendering, I personally find the digital flat even if the quality is now incredible (Canon 5Dsr and Mark IV).

I ask my equipment to be solid and resistant because we often have to deal with the elements. Rain, snow, ashes, cold, heat, shocks … are part of their daily life. I am extremely attentive to the definition of my images. It must be maximum for the rendering of the prints in very large formats in the context of my exhibitions.

Looking at my work is like looking at my life. To photograph well you have to love your subject, respect it, know it, understand it, to give it a meaning. You have to become the subject you are going to photograph, it is essential.

Whether it’s publishing, fine art or corporate, you have to be invested a thousand percent to hope to get a magical image.

The Collector’s Prints section is a space reserved for art and exceptional prints in limited editions and manually signed by the artist for collectors.

My archives are represented by the Hemis agency.
